How We Rank
We rank products by aggregating real owner reviews, star ratings, review volume and recurring praise/complaints, cross-checked against manufacturer-published specifications and expert consensus. We do not buy, install or physically test the heaters we cover, and we never claim to.
What we look at
For every roundup and review, we weigh:
- Real owner feedback — the volume and pattern of verified customer reviews, the recurring things owners praise, and the complaints that come up again and again.
- Published specifications — BTU output, coverage area, fuel type and run time, safety features (oxygen-depletion sensors, tip-over shut-off), and indoor/outdoor certification, taken from the manufacturer’s own documentation.
- Fitness for the job — how well a heater actually suits the use case a page is about, whether that’s a garage, a tent, an RV, or a patio.
- Safety and value — appropriate safety features for the intended use, and price relative to comparable models.
What we don’t do
We do not buy, install, or physically test the heaters we cover, and we never claim to. We are a research and consensus site: our job is to read widely, cross-check the facts, and summarize them honestly. Where a specification can’t be verified from a reliable source, we leave it out rather than guess.
How we handle product data
Product names, images, and links come from Amazon through its official Creators/Associates program. Prices and availability are controlled by the retailer and change constantly, so we don’t print them — the “Check Price” button always takes you to the live listing. Safety-critical claims are checked against sources such as the manufacturer’s manual, CPSC, and the ANSI Z21.11.2 standard.
Staying independent
We earn a commission when you buy through our links (see our Affiliate Disclosure), but that never decides where a product ranks. A heater earns its place on the strength of owner consensus, specs, and fit — not on commission. We update pages as new models appear, prices shift, and better information becomes available.
