Diesel parking heaters show a code on their small screen when something stops normal operation. This includes VEVOR and similar brands common in vans, trucks and RVs. The exact numbering isn’t the same across brands. It can even differ between firmware versions of the same brand. But most codes fall into one of a handful of categories. Here’s how to work with a code before you’ve confirmed its exact meaning in your manual.

Category 1: Ignition or Combustion Failure

Category 2: Overheating
The unit detected an internal temperature above its safe limit. It shut down to protect itself. Common causes: a blocked exhaust or intake, poor airflow around the housing, or a combustion chamber that needs cleaning. Let the unit cool fully before restarting. Check for any physical blockage around the vents first.
Category 3: Voltage Problems

Category 4: Fuel Pump Failure

Category 5: Sensor Failure

Category 6: Motor or Fan Failure
This points to the combustion fan or the heat-exchange fan not working as expected. The controller detects this through its own feedback circuit. A fan that’s audibly not spinning, or spinning too slowly, confirms this cause rather than something else.

Find the model number printed on the unit. Search for that exact model’s manual, not a generic "diesel heater error codes" result. What to Do When You Can’t Find Your Exact Code

Does Clearing a Code Fix the Underlying Cause?
